COLOMA!!!!

Thank you to everyone that attended the meeting this week.This will be my 8th year attending CODS, and I can't wait to share it with your child.  I have started to collect donations for Coloma.

I will send out a "letter of intent" for you to return next week.  We are asking that you make a firm decision about your child attending camp by October 7th.   By that day, we should hear a "yes" [or "no"] from you and receive the first $75 payment.  

If you are interested in being considered as a chaperone--a BIG job--please email me and I will send it home with your child.  

Scholastic Book Orders

Next week I will send home the September Scholastic book order.  If you choose to order books for your child, please only order ONLINE.  It is so much easier than having to collect money. Just use my activation code--GQZNM--to ensure your order goes to the "right place."  I use the points earned from your orders to buy more books for our classroom library.  

Math Textbook Activities At Home

Our new Math program offers many math games & activities online for home use. Extra practice with math facts is one of the many tools. 

Students can log into their district Gmail account. Then click on the "Google Apps" icon (like a telephone pad icon) located at upper right corner of the screen. Then click "More" -> "McGraw-Hill EducationConnectED" to access Everyday Math. 

                                          

Extra Writing Practice at Home

Students can write on the Night Zookeeper at home. It is a fun way to increase their writing skills and imagination. I have "sent" many "missions" which can be located by clicking on the green star within the program. These are writing prompts I have specifically selected or created for them. The Night Zookeeper offers writing prompts in all genres such as stories, poems, persuasive letters, writing directions, writing letters, non-fiction writing and journal entries to name a few. Ask your child to show you. There is a game/drawing element but this should not be their sole focus. Check it out!!

END OF SUMMER BEACH PARTY ~ FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD!

SAVE THE DATE for Nelda Mundy's End of Summer - BEACH PARTY!!!  Friday, September 23rd from 2:30-5:30! There will be food, games and fun for the whole family to enjoy! Game booths will be presented by our Mundy classrooms. You will receive more details about how you can help from your child's class room parent. We hope you and your family can join us for this FUN event!

Please join us for Mundy's Auction - Around the World in 80 Days, Friday October 14th from 6 - 11PM. This amazing and always a sell out event will be held right here in Green valley at the Homewood Suites! We are SO thankful to our major sponsors Homewood Suites for our venue and Napa Deli for catering! Ticket prices are $40 for a single ticket, or $75 for a pair of tickets. The ticket price includes: Dinner by the bite, dessert, DJ dancing entertainment and a drink ticket. Additional drink tickets will be sold for $5 each. Beer/wine = 1 drink ticket, Cocktails = 2 drink tickets. Auction tickets are on sale NOW and are going fast...We are limited to 200 people, so be sure to get your tickets today!
