WONDER ~ The Movie

I will be going to see Wonder on Monday, November 20th at 1:00 in Fairfield.  If you would like to join me, I'd love to see it with friends.  8-)   If you can't make it at that time, maybe you'll be able to see it at another time.  It was s GREAT book, and I can't wait to see the movie!!

Thinking Journals

The purpose of the Thinking Journal is to spark a discussion between students and their families every day about what they learned at school. This discussion about the day's learning should be happening every night.  I ask parents to sign/initial it every day to let me know you have seen it.  Periodically I check Thinking Journals for those signatures are reward kiddos with our "Monkey Money."

Minimum Days Next Week

Next week Monday through Friday are all minimum days. This means that students attend school from 8:15-11:55 am each day, with conferences in the afternoon.  The minimum day schedule is a little different this year because we are required to offer a lunch break to students.

The lunch break is from 11:10-11:30 for 4th graders.

• If they are buying hot lunch, or if they want to bring a lunch to eat at that time, they will go to the MPR to eat, and then back to class. 
• If they are not buying or bringing a lunch, they will be outside on the playground for that time, and then go back to class.

Conference schedules have been set. Please be on time and bring your child to the conference. We will go over report cards and student self-assessments.

Halloween Party ~ THANK YOU

Thank you for your donations to our Halloween Party. It was so much fun. The kid's costumes were great.  And....a BIG thank you to our room moms for putting on such a great party!!    You are AWESOME!!  

Math Unit 3 Test Thursday

We are planning on having our chapter test in math on Thursday, November 9. As we don't do formal homework, I'm posting instructions for how to access the math book at home, should they want to practice what we've been learning.

• Sign into your school email account (sNNNNNN@fsusd.org) and click on the Google Apps button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (9 little squares). You have to be in email to access it.
• In the popup screen, scroll down and click on "More".
• Scroll down until you see "McGraw Hill Education/ConnectEd".  Click on it and it will take you to the math book. 
• If you want to review the lesson of the day, click on "Go To Lesson X-X".
• Click on "EM at Home" to get the Home Links.
• You can also play the games online.

Canned Food Drive

We are collecting canned and nonperishable food from November 2-15th to benefit our friends at David Weir school in Fairfield.  Please bring what you can! Thanks.

News from the Library

Cordelia Library will be in the School Library on Thursday, November 9th and December 14th at 2:15. Stop by after school, or before Running Club, and check out a book or two. Prizes for Solano Kids Read will be available on November 9th only.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held in the School Library starting Friday, November 17th until Monday December 4th.  Stop by for some Holiday reading and gifts.
