If you wish to purchase a yearbook, they will be available before school on Wednesday, May 24. Cash only. $35 for soft cover, $40 for hardcover.

Book Swap

Do you have books sitting at home that your child has already read or outgrown?   Are you looking for new Summer reading material for yourself? Do you wish you had the opportunity to exchange them for new reading material?  ….
The Book Swap may be for you!

Bring in books that you don’t want anymore to the school library, during the week of May 30 - June 2. Since this is the first time doing a book swap, we are limiting it to a maximum of 5 books per student. For each book you turn in, you will get a ticket (up to five tickets). Bring your tickets to the Book Swap from June 7 through June 9 and trade tickets for books.  There will be a separate section just for parents and teachers to get new Summer reading too.

Books must be in good/gently used condition: cover on, no rips, no tears or bent edges.
Books with coloring or writing in them will not be accepted.

The selection of books available will be based on the books donated. We cannot ensure specific titles, etc.  If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help, please contact Diane Sagara in the Library or at 863-7920 extension 126.

FSUSD Dress Code

With the warm weather upon us, I just wanted to sent out a reminder about the district dress code.   THIS LINK will take you to the complete dress code, but here are a few highlights:

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to see that a student is acceptably dressed for attending school. The student should dress in a manner which abides by community and school standards. Attention should always be given to neatness, cleanliness, and safety. Dress should also avoid extremes that bring undue attention to the student, and in doing so, disrupts the educational process.

1. Shirts/Blouses/Tops/T-shirts
a. All shirts and blouses must cover midriff, back, sides, and all undergarments, including bras, at all times.
b. No exposed waist, hips, midriff, or chest
c. No halter tops, strapless tops, spaghetti straps, see-through tops, backless tops, tube tops, or low-cut tops
d. Tank top straps must be at least two inches wide

2. Skirts/Dresses/Shorts
a. Skirts, dresses, and shorts must be at least fingertip length
b. Skirt slits must be mid-thigh or lower

3. Pants
a. All trousers, pants, or shorts must totally cover undergarments, including thong underwear and boxer shorts
b. Pants must be worn on the waist or hips - no sagging allowed

4. Footwear
a. Shoes must be worn at all times
b. No Heelys (skate shoes) allowed unless the wheels have been removed
c. No flip-flops or bedroom slippers
d. No cleats in the classroom

News from Around the Room!

                                               Image result for thanks
Thank you for the thoughtful cards, gifts and flowers for Teacher Appreciation Week!
I LOVE teaching your kiddos. We have a lot of fun together, and we all learn so much from each other. We still have a lot of ground to cover in the next 4 weeks. Let's keep the kids focused and on track for a strong finish as they head off to 5th grade.
