This year, our Winter Break begins on Friday, December 22nd.  We return to school on Monday, January 8th. 

Spirit Days

Wednesday, December 20th, and Thursday, December 21st are Spirit Days next week.

• Wednesday is Ugly Silly Sweater Day!  Wear a festive holiday sweater or shirt, and a festive holiday hat or headband!
• Thursday is Pajama Day. Wear your comfiest clothes!  Please wear appropriate PE footwear (no slippers).

Book Exchange

Remember to bring a book to exchange for Thursday, December 21st. We will be doing the "White Elephant" game that day!  If you bring a new or gently used wrapped book, you will go home with another new or gently used book.  It's a fun way to swap out some books you may have already read!

Thank you for all of the books that were purchased for the classroom from the Book Fair.  We LOVE getting new books!!  

Coloma money is due FRIDAY!!  

We will need to make a second payment before we leave on break.  If you haven't done so already, please send in your second payment [either $70 or the remaining $135] and the permission slip by December 15th.  Thanks!!

We coded this week!!  The kids loved it!!  Khan Academy, Scratch, Tynker and Hopscotch are FREE web-based sites for kids to explore and learn.    I put several links up on Google Classroom so that kids can code on their own.

Before we leave for break, we will have a BOOK EXCHANGE.  If your child wants to participate, s/he needs to bring in a wrapped, unmarked book.  The book should be good for both boys & girls--and appropriate for our reading levels.  Every student that brings in a book will get a different book in exchange through a fun ["White Elephant" type] game!! 

We will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots.  Please bring in a new, unwrapped toy to put in our drop off bins in the office. 4th & 5th graders who bring in a toy will get to play in the Air Force Dodgeball game on Friday, December 15th right after school!! 

Let's encourage our kids to help those who are less fortunate than us this holiday season.

The holidays are upon us! No matter what holiday you celebrate, you can't escape all the hype surrounding the month of December!

Holiday Fair!!

Tomorrow is our annual Holiday Fair!! Come to the MPR from 10-1 and make sure to stop by the Book Fair.  Hope to see your there!!
