HOLIDAY GIFT FAIR - SATURDAY DECEMBER 3RD, 10AM - 2PM! WE HOPE YOU WILL PLAN TO JOIN US, SATURDAY DECEMBER 3RD FOR NELDA MUNDY'S 8TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY GIFT FAIR! GUARANTEED FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! Also - Be sure to check out the AMAZING class holiday trees on display in the office next week!!! They will be raffled off at the Holiday Fair! Raffle ticket bundles will be on sale all next week in the office. $20 for 25 tickets or $5 for 6 tickets. ATTENTION VENDORS: We are still looking for a few more vendors that specialize in arts, crafts and giftables. If you, or someone you know are interested in having a table at the fair, please let us know! Vendor space is only $25. RIT SCORES

THANK YOU for making it to your child's student-led conference.  It was great listening to each child reflect on his/her learning, and for me to share what an awesome learner your child is becoming.  We had 100% attendance...Wooohooo!!!!

Now that we talked about the MAP [Measure of Academic Progress] test, and the RIT scores your child earned in the Fall, I wanted to share with you a link that will provide you with more information about those assessments. Click on the link below:

Here are the RIT scores for 4th grade that we discussed at our Report Card Conferences. We will take the MAP tests 3 times each year.

Six Flags ~ READ TO SUCCEED

For those that want to participate...I sent home a Reading Log for the "Read to Succeed" program through Six Flags.  If you log 6 hours of reading on the log, you earn a FREE ticket to Discovery Kingdom.  Easy--you already read for KBAR--just log those minutes and you'll be done in no time!!  

Toys for Tots

We are collecting Toys for Tots now through December 8th. Please bring in new, unwrapped toys to help those less fortunate kids in our community. Collection boxes are located by the front flagpole and rear pick up area before school. A collection box is also located in front office. Thank you for thinking of others. 4th & 5th graders who bring in a toy can play in our Annual kids vs. Air Force game on December 8th.

HOLIDAY TREE RAFFLE TICKETS - ON SALE IN THE OFFICE THIS WEEK! Come on in and check out the AMAZING class holiday trees on display in the office!!! These Holiday trees will be raffled off at our Holiday Fair on Saturday, 12/3. Raffle ticket bundles are on sale NOW in the office! $20 for 25 tickets or $5 for 6 tickets. TRAFFIC SAFETY CONCERNS Safety for the kids is the number one concern when dropping off and picking up our children at Nelda Mundy! We all know that traffic in and out of our school can be very frustrating. There is an established traffic flow that has been in the works for years, however thought it would be helpful to re-post. Front of School Drop off (TK - 2nd grade): Traffic flow into the front loop drop off: ▪ Mangles Blvd. ▪ Left/right onto Venus Dr (depending on which direction coming in from) ▪ Left onto Trophy Dr. ▪ Right onto Mural / Academy Dr. Loop - leading directly into front parking lot drop off and pickup loop ▪ Please EXIT the same way you entered  _________________________________________ FRONT OF SCHOOL -- PLEASE ALSO NOTE: * Please do NOT make a left hand turn into the front parking lot from Vintage Valley Dr. during peak drop off/pick up times * Please DO NOT BLOCK the sidewalk in front of the parking lot (this prohibits safe entry/exit for WALKING parents/children *Please make complete stops at the marked STOP SIGNS in front of the school parking lot entrance *Please do NOT make a right hand turn when exiting the front school parking lot during peak drop off and pick up times Back/Side Gate Drop Off (3rd - 5th grade) * Drop off is open between 7:45AM - 8:10 in the mornings. The Mangles street gate will close promptly at 8:10AM each morning. Also open after school for pick up. We know that traffic in the morning and afternoons can be stressful. If possible, please arrive a few minutes earlier to allow time to find a safe and legal parking spot and also to not block in any of our Nelda Mundy Neighbor homes. We also ask that you respectfully honor marked parking spaces in the school parking lot for those they are intended for.

Honor Roll Assembly

The HONOR ROLL ASSEMBLY [for 4th & 5th graders] will be held on Friday, November 18th at 10:45.  

We calculate student Grade Point Averages [GPAs] based on As as 4pts, Bs as 3 pts, Cs as 2 pts, and Ds as 1 pt. each.   There are 5 subject areas we average.  Students that earned a GPA between 3.6 and 4.0 will be awarded "Honor Roll." Students that earned a GPA between 3.0 and 3.5 will be awarded "Honorable Mention."

MAP Tests

You will be seeing information about a "RIT score" on your child's report card. This is the score assigned to your child based on the MAP assessment (Measures of Academic Progress) we take three times each year. Click on the link to read about MAP Testing and what it means. We will discuss it more at your conference next week!
