Grade Weights

A great question came up in class after we reviewed our own grades in Illuminate. "How come if I have more As than Bs, do I only have a B?" The answer lies in the weighting of grades. A quick activity done as classwork may earn a 10/A+ but only be worth 5 points in the grade book. An end of Unit Math test that covers 3 weeks of material and earns an A+ is worth 100 points. An A on the Unit Test is worth much more than an A on classwork. You can't take a simple average of the grades listed on the grade sheet because different tasks have different weights.

Last Call ~ Chaperone Applications

If you are still interested in being a chaperone for our trip to Coloma, there is an application to fill out & a fee to pay [$110] if you are selected.  Applications are due by Friday, November 22nd!!  Now that we have a firm number of campers, we are able to determine the number of chaperones we need.  Please return any applications ASAP.

Read To Succeed is a free program that allows students in grades K-6 to earn tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom just by reading six hours for fun.
Here is how your child can earn a free ticket to Six Flags:

4th Grade 2019 Holiday Tree

The Holiday Season is just around the corner and it's that time for our Holiday Trees.  This year's theme is Gift Card Holiday Tree.  Please check out the list and sign up for anything you can.  If you don't want to shop, monetary donations are welcomed as well.  Please turn in all donations by November 7th-- so we can start decorating!!  The trees will be on display in the office, starting November 13th, before the Holiday Fair.  Thank you for always donating and making our school so amazing.
