Flipgrid
FLIPGRID is an online tool we use for students to respond to a question or prompt. Sometimes the videos are made in class and sometimes they will be made at home. FLIPGRID can be used on a laptop, tablet, or iPhone. Kids are loving it!! FLIPGRID gives every child in class a voice [even the quiet ones]. They also enjoy watching and respectfully commenting on each other's FLIPGRID posts.
Birthday Treats

This year we are not allowing cupcakes, cookies, or any sweet treats for student birthdays or for rewards. While this may seem like a drastic change from previous years, it follows the school district guidelines for healthy foods. There are a lot of great alternatives...maybe even donating a book in honor of his/her birthday to the classroom library. Books are less expensive than cupcakes, anyway!
Coloma ~ CODS
You should have received [or will very shortly] an informational handout about the field trip to Coloma in March. We will hold an informational meeting on
Monday, September 16th, at 5:00 pm in room 600.
Monday, September 16th, at 5:00 pm in room 600.
Chromebooks
We need every Chromebook to come to class everyday, fully charged. It is essential for successful learning that every child comes prepared for class everyday, Forgetting a Chromebook at home means your child is missing out on many learning opportunities. While some assignments can be converted to paper and pencil, many can not. Please help us help your student. Make a plan. Have a set charging station and a place that is easy to remember to pack up that Chromebook each day.
Thank you!
The 4th Grade Team
Xtra Math Online Program
This week, the kids signed in to my XtraMath class online. The link is on my website. This is an easy, FREE, program that can be used at home and school to practice math facts. The most common question I get is...how can I help my child succeed in 4th grade?? Mastering math facts will help them be more confident as we tackle the more complex concepts later in the year. We no longer do time tests as speed is not really important. Accuracy is important. This is also a way that a struggling student can practice in the privacy of their own home to get better.
Schedule for Room 600
We have MUSIC on Tuesdays. We have PE on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please plan for appropriate PE shoes on those days. Thank you.
