Padlet

PADLET is an online tool we use to discuss questions and quotations. It is a chance for every child to be able to express themselves to an audience. A new PADLET will be posted each week on the website and I will post their responses to Twitter.  This week no names were used so the kids could express their inner thoughts. Most weeks, they will include their names. It is important for kids to know they are not alone and that others feel the same things.

Flipgrid

FLIPGRID is an online tool we use for students to respond to a question or prompt. Sometimes the videos are made in class and sometimes they will be made at home. FLIPGRID can be used on a laptop, tablet, or iPhone. Kids are loving it!!  FLIPGRID gives every child in class a voice [even the quiet ones]. They also enjoy watching and respectfully commenting on each other's FLIPGRID posts.

Birthday Treats

This year we are not allowing cupcakes, cookies, or any sweet treats for student birthdays or for rewards. While this may seem like a drastic change from previous years, it follows the school district guidelines for healthy foods. There are a lot of great alternatives...maybe even donating a book in honor of his/her birthday to the classroom library.  Books are less expensive than cupcakes, anyway!

Coloma ~ CODS

You should have received [or will very shortly] an informational handout about the field trip to Coloma in March. We will hold an informational meeting on
Monday, September 16th,  at 5:00 pm in room 600.

Chromebooks

Image result for chromebook and kids

We need every Chromebook to come to class everyday, fully charged. It is essential for successful learning that every child comes prepared for class everyday, Forgetting a Chromebook at home means your child is missing out on many learning opportunities. While some assignments can be converted to paper and pencil, many can not. Please help us help your student. Make a plan. Have a set charging station and a place that is easy to remember to pack up that Chromebook each day.
Thank you!
