Accelerated Reader
Today in class, your child and I set their AR goal. Since we are not taking the STAR Reading test--which easily shared information with Renaissance Place--the process to determine reading levels and reading goals has taken a little longer. Each child's goal is different based on his/her reading level--and the amount of time we have left in the trimester. On Monday, your child will have a pink paper that will help them track their AR progress. Goals are due by November 3rd.
COLOMA MEETING!!!
We are having an informational meeting on the Coloma Outdoor Discovery School [CODS] trip on Wednesday!! We will meet in Room 504 at 5PM. The trip is optional, as is the meeting. It is a chance for you to get some general information about camp, as well as get some of your questions answers.
Library Check out
We had our first library check out today!! Our regular check out day will be on Tuesday each week. Students are allowed to check out two books each week. Please help them to take good care of our books, and return them when they finish. Thanks!!

Your 21st Century Newsletter!!!
Welcome to our new "newsletter." It is fresh and stays current. Please check back often, as I add new things/news as I receive them. Scroll down through articles until you are current. All articles are archived to the right.
COOKIE TIME!!!
CALIFORNIA COOKIES: Next Thursday, we will be decorating cookies to match the regions of California—an edible study guide!! Anyone want to bake 36 California-shaped cookies? [I have cookie cutters!! 8-) ] Please email me at alyceb@fsusd.org if you'd be willing to help.....PLEASE???!?!?!?
AR GOALS
We will be setting AR goals next week. Each student will have an individual goal based on his/her reading level. I will also adjust the scores since we are a little delayed in starting. Many students have already taken tests, so that will definitely help. AR counts for 10% of your child’s reading grade.
