Work to do at Home [Not Homework]

A popular topic at our Report Card Conferences was our NO Homework Policy at Nelda Mundy. Many parents inquired about what their kids could work on at home to improve their skills and make them more successful in 4th grade.  The "MAY DO" list in our agendas is optional, but it is not meant to be ignored...pick something to do each night so that your child is working towards making growth.

**I suggest that a schedule be created at home so that a variety of subject areas are covered throughout the week AND that any one resource isn't overused and become stale.**

In case you've lost my website, here is the link again: Mrs. Broschard's Website

The following list of sites are on my website under "Classroom Links" and your child should know how to get on them already from class.

*XtraMath [math fact practice]
*KhanAcademy/mappers [math practice AT your child's current level]
*eSpark Math
*eSpark Reading
*Night Zookeeper [writing]
*Prodigy [Math practice--coming soon]
*Freckle [Math practice--coming soon]

On the "Useful Links" page on my website there are links A LOT of great resources such as:
Khan Academy [great math tutorial videos]
Learnzillion [Math videos and activities]
Cool Math Games
Spelling

If you are traveling and won't have wifi, or if you just want to go old school [SHHHH!], this is a great link for math worksheets to print out.
Common Core Worksheets

Students also have access to their virtual textbook online through their GMAIL accounts.  EveryDay Math Online has math games, resources, and a fun eTool Kit where they can use fraction tiles, base ten blocks, and other manipulatives online.
